Surucucu. The bushmaster, drawn coiled on a branch in the old naturalist style. The largest viper in the Americas, and almost nobody ever sees one. It lies still on the forest floor, patterned into the leaf litter, waiting weeks between meals. Its scales are keeled and knobbled like bark, and between eye and nostril it carries a pit that reads the warmth of a body in the dark. The old name for it is the mute one, because it has no rattle and gives no warning.
Soft, garment-dyed heavyweight cotton. Charcoal print, printed inside-neck label, clean back. Five percent of every order goes to protect the wild it comes from.
